Beverley and East Riding Golf Club’s Ian Gregory claimed victory on a memorable day at the Fairway Credit Open Final.

The prestigious Forest of Arden Golf Club played host to the Fairway Credit Open Final last month and it was a “fantastic day” for all in attendance.

A total of 20 qualifying managers from around the country took on the Championship Course at the Midlands venue, which has hosted DP World Tour events.

Ian Gregory of Beverley and East Riding Golf Club took home the main prize, with Andrew Mee (Lingdale GC) and Sean Boyle (Chesterfield GC) taking second overall, and Rob Stoddard (Davenport GC) rounding out the top three.

“What a fantastic day we all had at the Fairway Credit Open Final at the Forest of Arden Golf Course,” said Nigel Stewart, Sales Director of Sports, Professions & Leisure. “The weather was superb and the course was in great shape. We were delighted to host a number of general managers from golf clubs throughout the UK.

“The golfer of the day was Ian Gregory from the Yorkshire Region who won both the individual and the Regional Fairway Credit Trophy.

“This annual event is a highlight in the Fairway Credit calendar and allows us the opportunity to engage with numerous golfing managers, in great surroundings. It also allows us to strengthen the great relationship we currently have with the GCMA.”

The winner of the nearest the pin prize was Gareth Hall (Glamorganshire GC), while Sean Boyle (Chesterfield GC) boasted the longest drive.

“Playing in the Fairway Credit Open is something our members really appreciate,” said GCMA Partnerships Manager Darren Wood. “Being able to spend a day on the course with other managers from around the UK is a rare chance for working managers to unwind and focus on their own golf for a day.

“Congratulations to all the winners and to Paul and the team at Fairway Credit for putting together a fantastic event at the Forest of Arden resort, one of the UK’s premium golfing venues.”
