Wetherby Golf Club is seeking an outstanding General Manager to lead the Club through its next phase of development. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware and people-focused leader to work with the Board and staff team in delivering an exceptional member and visitor experience.
Founded in 1910, Wetherby Golf Club is one of West Yorkshire’s leading private members’ clubs, known for its welcoming culture, strong membership, quality facilities, and commitment to continuous improvement on and off the course.
The Role:
Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will lead the Club’s day-to-day operations, financial performance, team leadership, member and visitor experience, and delivery of strategic priorities. The successful candidate will provide visible leadership across the Club, work closely with key partners including the Professional team and catering operation, and help maintain high standards across all aspects of the business
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Club’s operational, financial, and strategic performance.
- Deliver excellent service for members, guests, and visitors.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the employee team.
- Work with the Board to deliver strategic plans and maintain strong governance.
- Oversee member relations, visitor business, communications, and key supplier partnerships.
- Ensure high standards across the course, clubhouse, events, compliance, and health and safety
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a confident and inspiring leader with strong commercial judgement, excellent people skills, and experience in a customer-focused or membership-based environment

Working pattern:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), normally worked Monday to Friday, with flexibility as required.
Remuneration:
A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, depending on experience. The Club is committed to supporting the successful candidate’s ongoing professional development
