The Golf Club Governance Certificate scored an overall delegate satisfaction rating of 97.5%, with 100% scores for content and delivery across the two days.
The 2025 Advanced Management Programme in Golf Club Governance kicked off with great success at Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club & Spa.
Day one was filled with insightful discussions on governance structures, the role of teams, efficiency in the boardroom, and succession planning, expertly guided by Kevin Fish.
Delegates explored areas where governance can falter and examined ideal structures, resulting in an interactive and collaborative experience. The day concluded with an engaging evening of idea-sharing over dinner, setting a positive tone for Day two.
Day two continued the momentum with a comprehensive look into essential governance practices. Topics covered included running effective Board, Committee, and Sub-Committee meetings, the role and composition of Sub-Committees & Nominations Committees, and the Club Accountability Matrix.
There was a strong emphasis on the role of the Club Manager in reinforcing strong governance and managing upwards effectively.
Discussions also delved into setting and maintaining a positive Board & Committee culture, writing concise and professional meeting minutes, and drafting proposal papers for Board and Committee considerations.
