Edgbaston has become the first golf club in the UK to install a Kitt Medical on the premises.
Kitt Medical is a kit which provides emergency adrenaline pens in case of anaphylactic reactions. The company behind the eponymous kit also offer CPD to train and educate the club’s staff on how to deal with allergic reactions.
David Fulcher, Director of Golf and Operations, underlined the importance of making such a provision available.
“Being able to make more people aware of allergen safety is very important to me professionally and personally,” he said. “As someone who has family members with food allergies, I fully understand the risks with allergens and the importance of providing anaphylaxis kits.
“The Kitt Medical system provides this safety and increases the awareness amongst golfers. I am delighted Edgbaston Golf Club is paving the way for other golf clubs to install KITT Medical. It is bringing attention to allergen management in golf and the wider community.”
