The Hospitality Social Media Awards (HSMCA), the first pan-industry awards designed to celebrate the very best in social media communications, will be awarded on 23 November at a ceremony in Manchester. Organised by Club Mirror, the GCMA is pleased to support the Golf Club of the Year award.
From clubs and pubs to restaurants and dining outlets and from multiple-operators to industry suppliers, these new awards will recognise those who are using online platforms to communicate in fresh and innovative ways – websites, Facebook, Instagram, apps and everything in between.
The Golf Club of the Year category is supported by the Golf Club Managers Association. Digital marketing and social media is covered in both of the association’s main education pathways, including the Diploma in Golf Club Management, and Introduction to Golf Club Management training course.
GCMA Digital Communications Manager Mike Hyde said:
The GCMA is delighted to be involved in the first Hospitality Social Media Awards. It’s inspiring to hear about all the good work that is going on around the hospitality sector, and we’re beginning to see that best practice filtering into the golf club industry too. Professional golfers like Rickie Fowler and Ian Poulter have driven the use of social media to connect with golf fans, and we’re starting to see clubs using the same platforms to connect with new customers, and developing their relationships with existing ones. Golf courses are beautiful places, and really lend themselves to creative digital marketing campaigns, so we are expecting a strong competition!
