The 2016 edition of the National Golf Meeting was held at the esteemed, Alister MacKenzie designed, Alwoodley Golf Club on the outskirts Leeds on Monday 20th June.
Having awoken to torrential rain we feared the worst, however after the early starters braved the gloom, the rain moved on, and eventually glorious sunshine prevailed.
A challenging course was made tougher by some impressive rough, helping to create a true test of the golf for the 51 players who took part.

Graham Jackson, an On Course Foundation ambassador, was on hand to start everyone from the 1st tee, as GCMA National Captain David O’Sullivan belted the first drive of the day straight down the middle.
The day finished with a fabulous carvery and prizegiving, just in time to allow everyone to set off to watch the England and Wales football matches.
The organisation and professionalism of the Alwoodley team, headed by Manager Julie Slater, was evident throughout the day – thanks to everyone at the club for a very warm welcome, and for delivering a spectacular day.
