Under a new partnership with the NGCAA, GCMA members will be able to benefit from free legal advice on golf club matters.

The GCMA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the National Golf Clubs’ Advisory Association (NGCAA) that will provide members with limited free legal advice for their clubs.

This partnership, launching on Friday 16th August, gives GCMA members access to a team of specialist legal advisors who are on hand to answer email queries regarding the legal issues faced when running a golf club.

Alistair Smith, Chief Executive Officer at the NGCAA, said: “We are delighted to be working with the GCMA to provide advice on golf club matters to their members. There is a lot of synergy between our respective organisations and we hope that this move will bolster that.

“Many GCMA members will be familiar with our services already as a result of their club’s existing NGCAA membership. This new partnership with the GCMA is no substitute for full NGCAA membership since there are limits on the helpline service through the GCMA.

“It is designed to help those clubs who are not existing NGCAA members in a time of need and to give them a flavour of the high-quality advice on offer which will hopefully lead to full NGCAA membership.”

To access this membership benefit, use the contact form for the NGCAA within the GCMA Helplines section on the GCMA members hub. Once you have submitted your query via this contact form, a member of the NGCAA team will be in touch to provide the necessary advice.

Limits of use: The advice will be for and on behalf of the golf club only; no personal advice for secretaries, managers or committee members will be provided. For any club which is an existing NGCAA member, there is no limit on the advice as the club would benefit from full advice within NGCAA membership. Any non-NGCAA members would not have access to our website documents and the advice service would be limited to dealing with one particular enquiry for the club, subject to a maximum time of one hour.

Note: While this service provides advice for golf clubs, GCMA members have access to a personal use legal helpline through the association’s partnership with Howdens and Arag. Full details can be found in the members hub.
