Rhys Morgan paid tribute to his team at Newport Golf Club after he landed a prestigious prize at the Wales Golf Awards.
Newport Golf Club’s Rhys Morgan expressed his pride at being named Club Manager of the Year at the Wales Golf Awards.
Rhys joined Newport in early 2024 and has driven significant improvements, leading his team superbly and enjoying much success as a result.
After receiving the honour at a glittering ceremony at Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor, Rhys paid tribute to his team.
“I am very honoured to have won this year’s Wales Golf Club Manager of the Year award, supported by the GCMA,” said Rhys, who is also a huge advocate of education in club management and has already undertaken one of our Advanced Management Certificates, with another two to come in 2025.
“This was only possible thanks to my amazing team at the club, whose passion and dedication to constantly strive to improve all aspects of the club make my job so much easier and also makes me look far better than I actually am!
“A huge thank you also to my Management Board who empower and encourage my team and I to lead the club’s day-to-day operations with no interference and a huge amount of support — it is incredible to work within this amazing environment.”
