England Golf’s Respect in Golf movement aligns with our own values and we are proud to pledge our support.
We are proud to confirm the association has become the latest organisation to sign England Golf’s Respect in Golf pledge.
Following golf media outlet GolfMagic, we have pledged our commitment to ensuring everyone is treated fairly in a safe environment, and feels a sense of belonging within the game of golf.
The Respect in Golf movement has seen all 60 counties and 1,735 affiliated golf clubs sign the England Golf Terms of Affiliation, as the governing body looks to drive inclusivity and accessibility within the game, and stamp out discrimination.
GCMA CEO Tom Brooke said: “As a sport, golf has a long history of being recognised for its values. The Respect in Golf movement will help to ensure that these values evolve and continue to be at the heart of everything this great sport has to offer. In turn, this will help the game of golf to grow and appeal to new audiences now and into the future.
“Golf Club Managers play such an important leadership role not just within their clubs but within the industry as a whole, and therefore also play an important role in upholding and protecting the integrity and image of golf. It’s because of this that everyone at the GCMA is proud to support the Respect in Golf movement.”
England Golf Communications & Data Director Ben White added: “Respect in Golf runs through everything we do as an organisation and it’s imperative that people across the industry are advocates for what we are trying to achieve.
“The game really is reaching more and more people and by leading the way in terms of inclusivity and accessibility, we will continue to inspire more people to play the game, create lifelong affiliations, and to go as far as they wish.”
