Fast forward to the future – guaranteed performance with 20% less water

‘Early adopter’ Matt Aplin has been seeing the benefits of CirrusPRO at Goring & Streatley Golf Club.

When Rain Bird introduced CirrusPRO in 2019, Matt Aplin, Course Manager at Goring & Streatley Golf Club, took part in a beta trial as an ‘early adopter’, willing to give the next generation of irrigation software a try.

But what difference has CirrusPRO made at the club? What’s changed since, and can the club measure the impact on water used and on costs?

“At the time I didn’t consider trialling the new CirrusPRO software would be a risk at all as I had absolute confidence in Rain Bird,” said Matt.

“In retrospect, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. CirrusPRO is pretty much faultless. With the best tools at our disposal, we can guarantee to deliver performance. CirrusPRO is 100% easier, 100% more user-friendly, and gives us the ability to be enormously responsive.

“We’re using about 20% less water now, watering the full 18 holes, and we haven’t overseeded since we got our complete Rain Bird system.

“In very hot summers, if it’s suddenly wet and hot, you have the flexibility to quickly tackle heat-stressed turf, test out different things and irrigate in a flexible way as I know it will work.”

Since the earliest version of CirrusPRO, all users now benefit from updates as Rain Bird keeps innovations coming down the line.
