Press Release | 18th September 2026
The Golf Club Management Association (GCMA) is delighted to announce The Golf Foundation as its new Official Charity Partner.
The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to growing the game of golf, creating opportunities for people to experience the sport and highlighting the positive impact golf can have on individuals and communities.
Through the partnership, the GCMA and The Golf Foundation will work together to raise awareness of the charity’s work among golf club managers and the wider golf club community, while exploring opportunities for clubs to support and engage with initiatives that introduce more young people and diverse communities to golf.
The Golf Foundation is a leading national charity dedicated to transforming lives through golf. Working with clubs, coaches, schools, communities and other partners, it uses the sport to help young people develop life skills, build confidence and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
For the GCMA, the partnership reinforces its commitment to supporting golf clubs not only as places to play and enjoy the sport, but also as important community assets capable of delivering wider social impact.
Tom Brooke, GCMA CEO, said:
“It’s fantastic for the GCMA to be partnering with The Golf Foundation and supporting the brilliant work they do to create opportunities for young people to discover and enjoy golf. ‘Unleash Your Drive’ is a great example of how our sport can be used as a force for good, helping to make a real and lasting difference to young people and their communities. We’re excited to play our part in raising awareness of the Foundation’s work and encouraging more of our members and their clubs to get involved and help make golf accessible to more people in their local communities.”
Brendon Pyle, Golf Foundation CEO added:
“The GCMA have always been strong supporters of the Golf Foundation and our objectives to reach more youngsters – club managers and secretaries play a really important role in encouraging junior golfers on their journey so we greatly value their continued help. With our 75th anniversary as a charity fast approaching in 2027, we would love to see more golf clubs support our Unleash Your Drive Competition and hold a competition for their members to win the chance to play in the Pro Am at the BMW PGA Championship next year”
The partnership will provide opportunities for GCMA members to learn more about The Golf Foundation’s programmes and charitable initiatives, as well as ways their clubs can get involved and support the charity’s objectives.
Further information about the partnership and opportunities for GCMA members will be shared through the GCMA’s communications channels in the coming months.
