England Golf will launch Get into Golf Week from 3–9 August 2026, creating a nationwide participation campaign designed to help clubs and facilities attract new audiences and convert growing interest in golf into long-term engagement.
Taking place during the peak summer holiday period, immediately following The Open and the AIG Women’s Open, the initiative aims to showcase beginner-friendly opportunities across clubs, driving participation at a time when public interest in the sport is at its highest.
Growing Demand Creates New Opportunities
Interest in trying golf continues to grow significantly. Over the past 12 months, visits to find opportunities on the dedicated Get into Golf website have increased by more than 150%, while bookings have risen by 165% compared to 2025.
For golf club managers, these figures highlight a clear opportunity to engage prospective players who are actively looking for accessible, welcoming and affordable ways to experience the game.
Get into Golf Week has been developed to help clubs capitalise on this momentum by providing a focused national campaign that directs new participants towards local opportunities.

Putting Beginners First
England Golf is encouraging clubs and facilities to create experiences specifically designed for people with little or no previous golfing experience.
Successful activities may include:
- Short-format coaching sessions and driving range experiences
- Family-focused and social golf activities
- Junior taster sessions during the school holidays
- Beginner pathways that provide a clear next step after an introductory session
- Community-based activities delivered in partnership with local organisations and Community Golf Instructors
The campaign message is deliberately simple: Try golf this summer.
By reducing barriers to entry and creating welcoming first experiences, clubs can introduce more people to the game while showcasing the social, health and wellbeing benefits that golf offers.

Why Club Participation Matters
The success of Get into Golf Week will be driven by activity delivered locally.
England Golf is encouraging clubs, facilities, county organisations and community partners to work together to maximise the number and variety of beginner opportunities available throughout the week.
For clubs, participation offers the chance to:
- Introduce golf to new audiences within their local community
- Generate coaching and pathway opportunities
- Support recruitment initiatives for target audiences, such as families, juniors, women, or younger adults
- Increase awareness of the club and its facilities – and its desire to welcome new golfers
- Create future membership and customer growth opportunities
The campaign also aligns with England Golf’s wider participation programmes, including Get into Golf Rookies and Girls Golf Rocks, helping clubs create clear progression routes for new players.
A National Moment for Club Growth
Matt Draper, England Golf’s Development and Membership Director, believes the campaign presents a significant opportunity for clubs to engage new participants.
“The growth we’ve seen across Get into Golf over the past 12 months is extraordinary and demonstrates the appetite for simple, welcoming opportunities to try the game.
“Get into Golf Week gives clubs, facilities and community partners a national platform to showcase their beginner activity and encourage more families, young people and first-time golfers to take that first step into the sport.
“When clubs create accessible and welcoming experiences, people respond. This campaign is about shining a spotlight on those opportunities and helping thousands more people discover golf this summer.”
With strong national promotion supporting local delivery, Get into Golf Week provides clubs with an opportunity to reach new audiences, strengthen participation pathways and contribute to the long-term growth of the game.
